SOFTWARE

The Full Tilt software sports a sleek lobby and fun, cartoonish tables and avatars. While users cannot import their own images for avatars, they do have a choice from 58 different characters that Full Tilt offers. Each avatar has a set of four “emotions” that it can convey to further personalize the experience, including: normal, happy, angry, and confused. The software allows for a high amount of customizability in various other ways, as well. There are seven different table themes users can choose from ranging from the Vegas skyline to outer space. A stripped-down “racetrack” view without avatars can be chosen as well, which caters to users who prefer a classic tabletop over cartoonish trappings. The table windows can also be resized (either shrunk or expanded), which is a feature that few sites offer but one that is very welcome.

The main lobby conveys an abundance of information about each table, all of which is individually sortable. If a user wishes to sort cash-game tables by hands per hour, he can do so. Cash games can be filtered by poker variant, limit type, and stakes (high, medium, or low). The tournament tab features a highly-customizable filtration system that lets users get very specific in dictating which tournaments they wish to view. Tournaments in the lobby are also labeled with icons for rebuy, deepstack, turbo, shorthanded, and so on, to aid players in quickly finding their ideal table. The lobby provides a legend for these icons.

Specific tournament lobbies are rife with useful information, including: blind/payout structure, biggest/smallest/average stack, time until next break, time until next blind level (and what it will be), and total/current number of players. The lobby also displays a running list of the current rank of every player in the tournament (many poker sites only rank the top 100 and those already eliminated). Every displayed list is sortable, making it easy and efficient to find desired information. FullTilt does not currently support final table deal-making, although players are, of course, allowed to make deals and transfer money on their own terms. (FullTilt does not oversee or guarantee such deals.)

While the software does have “auto-post blinds” and “sit out next hand” checkboxes, it does not have checkboxes for “Wait for next blind and auto-post” when entering a table or “sit out at next blind” when preparing to leave a table.

TOURNAMENTS

Almost all of the poker variants offered in cash-game form are also offered as tournaments (the exceptions being H.O.S.E., H.A., and H.O.). Single-table, low-buy-in hold’em sit-and-go tournament fill up in under two minutes. Full Tilt offers sit-and-gos for up to 90 players. There are plenty of guaranteed prize pool tournaments at Full Tilt and buy-ins range from as little as $1 to as much as $500. Such tournaments regularly go well beyond their respective guarantees.

CASH GAMES

Players can find a cash game to their liking and start playing within seconds. Full or nearly full tables abound in the hold’em section and the other poker variants’ sections are heavily populated as well (yes, even razz).
